Tutte queste forme contratte si usano solo nella lingua parlata e familiare. - Si noti, infine, l'accezione 3 sotto, che mostra come il negativo non davanti ad aggettivi o avverbi può essere reso in inglese mediante un prefisso di valore negativo* * *non/non/Generalmente, l'avverbio non ha il suo equivalente diretto nell'inglese not. Si ricordi tuttavia che la frase inglese non ammette una doppia negazione, e che quindi non può essere assorbito da un pronome o da un avverbio negativo: non mi conosce nessuno = nobody knows me; non ci vediamo mai = we never meet.
